A 26-year-old management student died during post-dahi handi celebrations on Tuesday night. A case of accidental death has been registered with the Kasba Peth police chowky and the youth has been identified as Sagar Sanjay Pingale, who was associated with the Budacha Ganpati mandal.

According to the police, "Pingale is a management student and was also working with a private company. The group had spent all day roaming the city and breaking dahi handis. Around 10 pm, after dancing in front of the loudspeakers for a while, Pingale approached his friend complaining of chest pain."

The friend immediately rushed him to KEM hospital at Rasta Peth on his bike.
The officer added, "As there was a huge rush at the spot, Sagar decided not to wait for an ambulance or an auto and took out his bike. He rushed to the hospital and got Pingale admitted to the OPD at the hospital but before he could receive full treatment, Pingale breathed his last."
The doctors at the hospital said that Pingale had suffered a massive heart attack and died because of it.
"We are probing the case and at present have registered a case of accidental death," the officer said.
