The emergency workers in Vienna in Austria had an extremely unusual task as they had to remove around 7,000 chickens who were blocking a busy motorway.

The incident happened at Vienna during morning rush hour causing long traffic jams. The chickens went berserk on the road after a lorry transporting them lost its load.

"Boxes containing dead and injured animals were strewn over a 160-metre stretch (of road) while thousands of chickens ran onto the motorway on both sides," police said.
