An Afghan cricketer by the name of Shafiqullah Shafaq wowed everyone with his stellar performance in a local tournament of the aragon Nangarhar Champion Trophy.

The Afghan batsman smashed a 71-ball 214 runs with 21 sixes and 16 boundaries to his name. Shafiqullah's brilliant knock helped his team Khateez Cricket Academy post a huge total of 351. Waheedullah Shafaq, his teammate was nothing short of amazing with a score of 81 in just 31 balls. His team went on to win by a huge margin of 244 runs.

But since this was a local tournament Shafiqullah Shafaq's record will not be officially recognised. His international T20 highest score remains 51. That means West Indies' flamboyant batsman Chris Gayle can relax some more as his unbeaten 175 during the IPL tournament match between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Pune Warriors still remains the highest T20 score.

He made his debut in ODIs back in 2009.
