Fresh off the success of his last release, the Shree Narayan Singh-directed love story 'Toilet: Ek Prem Katha', Akshay Kumar is in a buoyant mood. And the timing couldn't have been better, as he is inching closer to the big 50 on September 9.

The actor-filmmaker has grand plans for his milestone birthday. He had earlier mentioned that it would be an intimate affair — a lunch or dinner date — with his immediate family, including wife Twinkle Khanna and their kids, Aarav and Nitara. Now, he has planned a four-day trip to the Swiss Alps.

A source close to the actor told Mumbai Mirror, "On the weekend of September 9, the Kumars will make a whirlwind trip to Switzerland because Nitara has expressed a desire to see the snow and Akshay is always ready to indulge his children." But before he embarks on the birthday trip, he will have a puja at his Mumbai home and spend some time with his mother Aruna Bhatia, sister Alka, mother-in- law Dimple Kapadia and sister-in-law Rinke Khanna-Saran. The celebrations will kick off in the first week of September in the Kumar household.
