The Serie A leaders ran themselves ragged to force a 2-2 Champions League draw with Bayern Munich on Tuesday night and approached this weekend's Derby d'Italia meeting with Inter on the back of an exhausting run of 15 league wins from 16 games.

Despite Inter's absence from Europe, Juve convincingly outpaced their rivals over 90 minutes, with second-half goals from Leonardo Bonucci and substitute Alvaro Morata boosting them 13 points clear of the Nerazzurri and, more importantly, four points clear of second-placed Napoli.

"I want to congratulate the boys on their admirable performance on a technical level, especially in the first half. We came into this game on the back of a tough night against Bayern, who caused us problems,: Allegri said.

'Inter a good team'
"Inter are a good team and can still compete for third place. Our own dealings with them are not over yet, though, as we have to try and beat them into the Coppa Italia final.

"We're only one step away, but we'll need to get a positive result in Milan."
