On her 69th birthday today, Bachchan, Vidya and Arjun make a special video for Hema Malini that will be screened at the latter's biography launch

All of B-Town had come together to wish Amitabh Bachchan on his 70th birthday in 2012. Five years later, the fraternity will reunite today - this time, for their very own Dream Girl, Hema Malini. The BJP MP and senior actor will mark her 69th birthday today with the launch of her authorised biography, Beyond The Dream Girl.

Deepika Padukone will launch the book written by journalist-producer Ram Kamal Mukherjee. On the special occasion, 50 noted celebrities from the Indian film and music industry will extend their wishes to the danseuse, through an hour-long video. Bachchan, who has been her co-star in several movies like Satte Pe Satta (1982) to the more recent Baghban (2003), will share anecdotes from their younger days in the video.
From veteran actor Vyjayanthimala, who has always maintained her love for Malini's dancing skills, to the current crop, including Arjun Kapoor and Kriti Sanon, from designer Neeta Lulla to choreographer Shiamak Davar — the who's who of the industry will express their affection for one of the most beautiful actors that has graced the big screen.
We hear Lata Mangeshkar, who considers the actor her "younger sister", has spoken about how she was surprised to discover Malini's singing talent when the latter gifted her recently-released music album to the legend. Similarly, the video will see Vidya Balan talking about how Malini has "set a high benchmark" for actors like her.

Mukherjee says, "While planning the book launch on her birthday (October 16), we realised that Hemaji will also be completing 50 years in the film industry in 2018. So, we decided to make it special for her, and took on this Herculean task of roping in 50 celebrities to wish her on her birthday as well as golden jubilee." He adds that Padukone has another surprise for Malini.
