Over the years, Linkin Park (LP) has been praised for cutting-edge music videos and Chester Bennington's cathartic anger. The powerful vocalist could screech as well as hum a melody, creating a wave of disciplined devastation. The 41-year-old's suicide last week exposed how depression could be contagious among rock stars. Not long ago, Bennington sang Leonard Cohen's Hallelujah at Chris Cornell's funeral, who ended his life on May 18 due to similar insecurities. Anthracite - a Mumbai-based nu-metal act formed in 2012 after growing up on LP's music - share their thoughts ahead of a tribute gig.

"When Mike Shinoda confirmed the news on Twitter, our hearts sank, and everyone was in tears.

Anthracite was made because of LP. They lit the fire in our belly," says vocalist Abhishek Nair, who can nail the iconic track, One Step Closer, note-to-note.

Drummer Dev RK believes an artiste is connected to the legend when covering his work, "Chester's death feels like the loss of a friend. From what I see, the monotony in his life probably got to him," he says.

"I think Chester's death is a lesson for everyone to understand that money, success and a billon fans is nothing if you are not happy with yourself. We should know that we can take help whenever needed and that nobody is alone. We must talk to our loved ones for support," adds Nair.

Anthracite will cover a few lesser- known tracks like Qwerty and Battle Symphony at the gig, apart from popular ones like Numb and In The End. "It's pretty challenging to cover LP. You need good rappers and vocalists who can touch Chester's notes," they sign off.
