Popular rock and metal band to make their long-awaited debut in India this weekend
Celebrated progressive rock and metal band, Dream Theater, is set to make their long-awaited debut in India. The popular American band will be performing at MMRDA Grounds in Mumbai tomorrow as part of their Images, Words & Beyond tour to celebrate their album Images & Words' 25th anniversary. With heartfelt vocals in progressive metal and thought-provoking lyrics, the album gained recognition as Loudwire's Metal Madness Award for The Best Metal Album of all time in 2013.

The two-time Grammy-nominated band that enjoys a massive fan following in India, is well known for their technical proficiency. The fiercely devoted fans can expect an immersive and experiential journey as frontman James LaBrie and guitarist John Petrucci belt out hits like Pull Me Under, with Jordan Rudess weaving his magic on the keyboard. The line-up is rounded off by bass guitarist John Myung and drummer-percussionist Mike Mangini.

The India and Dubai leg of the tour is being managed by Mumbai-based Opium Events. Getting the band to India was the organiser and Opium Events MD Cyrus Gorimar's long-standing dream. Gorimar, on his part, is a well-known metal musician and has been playing for decades with his band, Brahma & Blue Blood. About bringing the musicians to India, Gorimar says, "What started as a dream, of bringing Dream Theater to India, has become a reality. I couldn't be happier about it."
