The walls seem to be closing around actor Shiney Ahuja, who has been accused of raping his maid. The DNA report of the vaginal swab of the victim has tested positive and matches the FIR filed by her.

The report that was released yesterday has made the prosecution's case stronger, the police said. ACP Amitabh Gupta (West region) said, "The DNA report supports the maid's FIR."

However, Ahuja's family refused to comment on the reports. "We have faith in the judiciary. Our lawyer will handle it," said a relative.

The actor, who is in solitary confinement in an 8 by 5 cell at the Arthur Road Jail, is unaware of the developments.

His neighbours include 1993 bomb blast accused Mustafa Dossa. Unlike other undertrials, Shiney's room has neither a TV nor a fan.

It has a coir pillow, two bed sheets and an attached toilet. He is served jail food and is allowed personal clothing.

His wife Anupam, father Suraj and some relatives and friends have visited him till now.

In spite of being allowed to use the canteen, the actor prefers to stay in his cell. The canteen boy brings him his quota of mineral water.

According to jail officials, he keeps to himself and when jail authorities ask if he faces any problems, he replies in the negative.

Apart from his morning exercise, the actor is idle through the day and enjoys reading books that are available.

Shiney receives no preferential treatment. Jail Superintendent Rajendra Dhamne said, "He is just another undertrial here.

But since we are concerned about his security, he is lodged in a separate cell." The case will come up for hearing on July 2.
