Introducing Dr Love, who solves your relationship riddles in a confusing digital age
I got married 7 months ago. It was a love-cum-arranged marriage, because I was in a relationship with my husband for 7 years before we decided to settle down. We had a few disagreements at the time, but decided to marry because we couldn't live without each other. So, we approached our respective families and got married. Everything was fine for the first three months but, since then, my husband has no time for me. He isn't concerned about me at all, and I feel he is losing interest in me. As a wife, I do everything I am supposed to, and I have talked to him about the fact that I need more time from him, but he makes promises and promptly goes back to his usual behaviour the next day. His priority is money now and he has become very self-centred. He was not like this before. What could be the reason for this? What should I do? I have tried everything, and I don't want this marriage to be ruined.

It has just been seven months, so I suppose a lot of this has to do with the fact that your relationship with your husband is changing. It does for a lot of people who find that married life is radically different from dating. If your husband has no time for you, he is probably taking you for granted, which is a problem. If it's money that is on his mind, that may change when he figures out what his priorities are. Try going on a holiday together and rekindling what you had before. The only thing you can do for now is be supportive and get him to recognise how important you are in his life. This won't be easy, of course, but it may take the two of you some time to come to terms with the way your relationship has changed. Don't give up on him just yet.
