According to The Sun newspaper, Nordegren, 29, arrived in France a few days before Christmas with her twin sister Josefin and five close friends.

They stayed in a seven-bedroom chalet away from the main resort. Nordegren spent most of her time indoors but ventured out to hit the slopes once only to return due to rain. An expensive dinner with friends highlighted the New Year's Eve.

Meanwhile, Woods is nowhere to be seen after reports of his affairs with several women which included cocktail waitresses and porn stars. "Elin wanted to take her family and close friends away from the minefield Tiger has created by his behaviour," a source told The Sun. "She has been absolutely torn to pieces by what he has done to her. But she still sees a future with Tiger because of the beautiful children they have. "She told him she needed a lengthy time apart to reflect on how they might possibly salvage the marriage."

Woods was linked to at least 14 other women, forcing the golf superstar to admit in a statement on his website that he had been unfaithful. He also said he was taking an indefinite break from golf to focus on rebuilding his marriage. In one of the most stunning falls from grace ever seen, Woods' squeaky-clean marketing juggernaut image was destroyed.
