Bollywood actress Esha Deol, who is expecting her first child with husband Bharat Takhtani, is all set to tie the knot again. Esha and Bharat will take three 'pheras' instead of seven on August 24 according to the Sindhi rituals of the 'Godh Bharai' ceremony or baby shower.
Her outfit for the special day has been designed by Neeta Lulla. "Besides doing clothes for a lot of my films, Neetaji also made my wedding outfit. She adds confidence and grace to my look with her clothes," Esha Deol told mid-day earlier.
Talking about the outfit, Neeta Lulla told mid-day, "It's an asymmetrical Anarkali with multi layers of red and pink tulle, crafted with gota, zardozi and sequin embroidery paired with a sharara, which will enable her to walk around freely."
Esha Deol told Mumbai Mirror that when she had married Bharat on June 29, 2012, her mother Hema Malini had flown in a priest from Tirupati and since he spoke only Tamil, none of her family or friends had understood anything. "This time it's a Sindhi priest who speaks Hindi too, so my in-laws will at least understand what is being said," Esha Deol told the tabloid.
The report shared more details about the ritual. It said that the priest will be chanting prayers for the well-being of Esha Deol's child too. Family members will also apply oil on Esha's forehead and shower her with blessings and gifts. The event will also see a 'mehendi' ceremony where women will be singing and dancing to folk music.
Esha Deol's baby shower will be an intimate affair hosted by the Takhtanis. The report also says that a special 'chappan bhog' for Lord Krishna has been organised and guests will be served a 'satvik' lunch after the ritual.
While talking to the tabloid, Esha Deol said, "Over the last five years, Bharat and I have become as thick as thieves. Since I’m pregnant, I’m prone to mood swings now but he’s tolerated them and is extremely protective. He’s also my best critic, encouraging me in everything I do. At the risk of sounding filmi, I’ll say I wouldn’t want to change anything, life’s beautiful!"
