Former US Open tennis champion Flavia Pennetta is expecting her first child with husband Fabio Fognini next year. The couple announced the news on social media yesterday.

Fognini, currently ranked No. 57, posted a message on Instagram and wrote: "Baby Fognetta is coming. It is with a heart full of joy that Flavia and I announce this beautiful news."
Fognini added that among many wonderful public and private moments they've shared, this stands above the rest.
Recently, Pennetta had confirmed the news to Italian magazine Chi, revealing that she is in her fourth month of pregnancy and it is likely that she will deliver the child in May.
"When you are next to the man you love and he gives back, you cannot be anything but happy... yes, I am a lucky girl," Pennetta was quoted as saying by Chi.
The couple, who have been together since 2014, got married in Pennetta's hometown of Ostuni, Italy on June 11 this year.
