Interestingly, Muguruza was rooting for Federer on Sunday because she wanted to dance with the Swiss at this champions' dinner. At a press conference, she was asked who she would rather dance with, Federer or runner-up Marin Cilic. She smiled and replied: "Oh, come on... Roger! I like Cilic, but I want to see if Roger is that elegant at dancing too."

The dance between champions was a tradition but according to a Wimbledon spokesperson, there was no dance floor at this venue since that part of the evening was discontinued. However, going by Muguruza and Federer's pre-party mood they might as well have danced through the night. "@rogerfederer are you ready to dance? #ChampionsDinner." Muguruza wrote on Twitter, and Federer replied: "Bring it on champ"
