Kings XI Punjab may have lost to Mumbai Indians at Indore's Holkar Cricket Stadium, but that was more a tribute to the opposition's batting and beautiful track than a lack of effort from the hosts.

Hurting from their defeat at the hands of Sunrisers Hyderabad at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, the Punjab boys put in the long hours in the nets ahead of the encounter.

One person, who was sadly not included in the playing XI, was working especially hard in the nets. It was South African batsman David Miller.

The KXIP team shared some pictures of the players training on their official Facebook page ahead of the match.

With mercury hovering around the mid to late 30's in Indore, the heat was too much to take for the foreigners who come from much cooler climes.

While he donned all the other cricket gear, Miller decided the best way to tackle the heat was to go shirtless.

Now, while there is no third umpire during training sessions, girls would surely say that the hotspot was Miller batting topless.

Miller's taunt abs on display didn't impress the selectors, but they would make many girls swoon. After all, he raising the hotness quotient in this photo.

Sadly, Miller hasn't been setting the scoreboard on fire lately. He was dropped as skipper of KXIP and hasn't scored a single half-century in his last 19 IPL innings and scored a mere 244 runs in the last 18 IPL innings. His strike rate for the period in discussion has been 115.63 and average just 16.26.

Hopefully, he will get back his midas touch and turn up the heat in the middle also.

Miller's teammate Hashim Amla, though was sublime in his knock of 103 that enabled Punjab to put up a competitive 198 for 4 vs Mumbai Indians. Unfortunately, some brilliant batting by Jos Buttler and Nitish Rana saw Mumbai thrash Kings XI by 8 wickets on Thursday.
