Jhunjhunwala College boxer dominates Tolani's Jinu Nair in 51Kg bout of Mumbai University inter-college tourney
The University of Mumbai’s inter-collegiate boxing tournament for men and women sponsored by Rizvi College (Bandra) got off to a rousing start at college premises yesterday with Ajitkumar Kori of Jhunjhunwala punching his way to glory against Jinu Nair in the 51kg flyweight bout.

Both boxers traded a series of punches in the first few seconds with Kori holding an edge when he connected a couple across Jinu’s face. Kori continued his onslaught in the next two rounds too and with Jinu bleeding from his nose the referee had to stop the fight in the third round.
The second fight between Atul Patil (BPCA) and Akshay Desai (KMC) in the same category lasted just a few seconds into the first round as Patil was all over Desai who gave in without a fight.
Aakash Agarwal of Bhavan’s pulled off an unlikely win against Momin Ravutar of Hinduja in the 64kg light welterweight category.u00a0Despite being on the receiving end for the first two rounds, Aakash caught Momin napping with a powerful right which had the latter in a daze and the referee stopping the bout.
