Introducing Dr Love, who solves your relationship riddles in a confusing digital age
There's a girl I have had a crush on for over two years now, who doesn't even know I exist. How do I get her to talk to me, let alone go out with me for coffee at some point?
It's really as simple as going up to her and saying hello, actually. Or, if you're too shy, find a common acquaintance to make that introduction. If you have waited two years, don't throw the next two away by sitting back and waiting for something to happen. Life doesn't really work that way.
I dated a boy for a few months, during which we had sex a few times. He wasn't very good in bed, but I didn't let him feel bad because I didn't want to hurt his feelings. A few weeks ago, I ran into a friend of mine who is dating my ex-boyfriend's best friend. We chatted for a bit, and she told me that he has been telling everyone that we ended our relationship because I was frigid during sex. This angered me a lot, not simply because it's a blatant lie, but because he has no business discussing our sex life with anyone, let alone people I happen to know too. How do I send him a message asking him to stop? I don't want to meet anyone else who has this idea of me simply because of him. It's extremely crass behaviour and I don't want him to do it to anyone else ever again.
It is crass and he really has no business talking about your sex life together. Having said that, there's no way you can monitor what he says to anyone in private. It's a whole other matter if he discusses you publicly. I suggest you confront him, in person, or any way you feel comfortable, and ask him to stop. He may think he's being cool, but you can always point out to him that two can play this game if he chooses not to stop trash talking.
