What role does the set play in theatre? Can set design give direction to a play? These are some of the many questions actor-director Vijay Kenkre and set designer Pradeep Mulye aims to answer in their talk today. The two began working together way back back in 1979, as actors. Since then. Pradeep is Kenkre's go-to set designer, because according to Kenkre, Mulye “makes sets which direct the play”. Commercial Marathi theatre in Mumbai typically works in four-hour slots, which means four hours to set up, perform it, take it down and moving to the next venue. Through anecdotes and visuals, the talk promises an engaging evening, especially for those who wonder, long after the curtain falls, what it must have taken to create the experience in the first place
