Former Manchester United midfielder Ryan Giggs (43) caught the eye of the paparazzi after he was spotted flirting with British actress Gemma Atkinson at the Sports Personality Of The Year awards after-party in Manchester on Sunday.

Atkinson (32), who is currently single, is a huge United fan, and previously named Giggs as her favourite player.

"Ryan and Gemma were seen getting close, she didn't leave his side. They've known each other for 10 years so they're very comfortable in each other's company," a source was quoted as saying by The Sun.

The Emmerdale beauty previously dated Giggs's Old Trafford teammate Cristiano Ronaldo and former Crystal Palace striker Marcus Bent.

Giggs, meanwhile, separated from his wife of nine years, Stacey Cooke in May after she reportedly heard that he was flirting with a waitress at a restaurant he owns close to their £6million mansion in Worsley. Giggs and Stacey have split, but still live together.
