These are good days for Indian women's cricket. The former players were given financial rewards by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) in ceremonies held during Indian Premier League matches.
Last week, Jhulan Goswami became the highest wicket-taker in one-day international cricket when she went past Australia's Cathryn Fitzpatrick's 180 wickets.

Yesterday, Mumbai's Poonam Raut and Uttar Pradesh's Deepti Sharma put on a world record 320-run opening stand to set up a massive 249-run win for India over Ireland in the quadrangular tournament at Potchefstroom, South Africa.
It was later announced that Raut was in India's World Cup squad. She scored 109 off 116 balls and hit 11 boundaries. Sharma's stunning 188 came off 160 balls with 27 fours and two sixes. India's 358 was the second highest score in women's ODI.
Sharma is the second highest top-scorer after Australian Belinda Clarke, who slammed an unbeaten 229 against Denmark at Mumbai in 1997.
Jaya Sharma's 138 against Pakistan in 2005 was the previous Indian record. Ireland were shocking in their reply and were bowled out for a paltry 109 in 40 overs.
Mary Waldron (35) was the top-scorer for Ireland, while Jennifer Gray contributed with a 46-ball 26 as only four batswomen could reach doubles scores.
