An unidentified thief broke into Marathi film editor Raju Kadam’s Bandra-based studio and made way with all his equipment, bringing his current editing projects to a standstill.

The robber, who attacked Kadam’s video editing studio on Friday, escaped with two monitors, dubbing mikes, 240 GB hard disks and speakers worth lakhs of rupees. He was captured on the CCTV installed inside the premises, and an FIR has been registered with the Kherwadi police station.
“As I was caught up in a meeting with a client, I did not go to my studio on August 12. The following day at around 6 am, the watchman of the building called on my cellphone and informed me about the break-in. I rushed to the studio from my Vile Parle residence and found that the lock of the door had been broken,” said 45-year-old Kadam.
“After reaching the spot, I immediately went inside the studio and found that many of my important editing tools were stolen. Each equipment cost over Rs 45,000. I then went to the Kherwadi police station and informed the cops about the incident,” he added.
Incidentally, a CCTV installed inside the building’s premises captured images of the suspect. The cops are currently on the lookout for the accused.
“We have registered an FIR under Sections 454, 457 and 380 of the IPC for house-breaking, against unknown accused. Efforts are being made to nab the culprit and recover the stolen property,” said a police officer from the Kherwadi police station.
