What's on Nawazuddin's mind?
Nawazuddin Siddiqui has earned quite the reputation of being able to pull off any role with élan. But even he probably did not think that despite recent success that has also ensured commercial benefits, he would sell undergarments on the streets of Mumbai. True to his reputation, he pulled it off with perfection, and made some money too.

The actor pulled off the challenge as a part of a fun video, by Culture Machine's channel All Access. There he sells chaddis and discusses the influence of chaddis in his life with co-star Amy Jackson. They finally wind up the session by playing golf in potholes of Mumbai's roads.
In the jungle with T-Cub
Here's a bit of news that will cheer the book and animal lover with the same intensity. Prerna Singh Bindra, one of India's leading conservationists and writers, and a strong voice for the tiger in India, is ready with When I Grow Up I Want To Be A Tiger (published by Speaking Tiger!), a story about a young tiger cub growing up in the forests of India. T-Cub has a simple wish in life: When he grows up he wants to be a Tiger.
While the book has been written for children (adults are welcome too!) we can't wait to get our hands on this one to read about this naughty, curious, brave (and sometimes not) cub. With adorable illustrations by Maya Ramaswamy, it's bound to make for a great learning and reading tool for the young and the not-so-young reader.
Designs for change
The differently-abled aren't given too much attention in a city that is disabled-unfriendly. Next week, the Consulate General of Sweden and the Swedish Institute are hosting a design exhibition to showcase products designed to improve the lives of the differently-abled. Design for Dignity will feature 22 products includin a toilet and shower chair, a folding stool, a walker, wheelchairs, cutlery and even a baby carrier.
There's also a photo exhibition entitled AccessAbility, which will showcase stories of Swedish and Indian individuals who are overcoming various disabilities. And yes, the entire exhibit at Welingkar Institute, Matunga, is disabled-friendly and will have audio aids for the visually impaired too. Now, that's design for change.
For god's sake
Has a cab driver refused to ferry you to the coveted Lal Baug Cha Raja, saying it's too crowded? Here's some good news. A leading pizza brand has organised AC buses to help thousands of devotees commute comfortably between two pandals. The pick and drop points for the buses will be their outlets across different locations.

The buses will cover around 27 different locations of Mumbai — from Borivli West (End of Western Line), Ulhasnagar (End of Central Line) to Nerul (End of Harbour Line) on various days, till September 14. Sounds pretty divine to us.
