An email for one such brand campaign that we received recently, left us amused if not shocked. An European lingerie brand that claimed to be Europe's number 1 with, 700 stores across 18 countries was now all set to launch in India.
The email invited us for the launch, and read, “expect everything that is Fun, Flirty, Passionate & Sexy! Join us for a Bra Party (in pink) and get a sneak peek into the world of lingerie.”
Well, considering the recent spree of bans in the country, we hope Europe’s best is aware of what to expect. The outcome may not be that fun, flirty, passionate and sexy!
Relive the Lavani magic
Watching a live Lavani performance is a difference experience altogether, as anyone who’s watched it will tell you. Now, Sangeet Bari written by Bhushan Korgaonkar and directed by Savitri Medhatul is back in the city, after several mesmeric shows earlier.

The duo, also created a documentary in 2008 called, ‘Natale Tumchya Saathi — behind the adorned veil. Korgaonkar has also written the critically acclaimed book, Sangeet Bari in 2014. The book and film focus on the lives of these women and attempt to portray them as artists and human beings unlike the popular image of a seductress or a victim.

From Mumbai to Goa, that’s bus-iness
Visitors to Mumbai's Fashion Street (FS), located near the Metro cinema may be struck by the empty spaces just adjacent to the Street known for its sasta sartorial offerings.
Usually, the road outside would be lined with a number of buses. These are the Mumbai to Goa buses taking Mumbaikars to the land of sand, surf, sun, sorpotel and susegade (not necessarily in that order). These days, there are no buses spotted there.
The ticket sellers told this diarist that the buses are now cleaned and parked at Wadi Bunder near Masjid Bunder. The tickets are now sold with a timing at which the bus comes near the Cross Maidan on Fashion Street, picks up those headed to Goa and moves on.
“The buses do not wait for more than 15 minutes. If a passenger is late, they should call the number on the ticket and inform us, or else the bus leaves without them,” says Darshan Mangeshkar, a ticket seller at Fashion Street.
Remy De Souza, another ticket seller near Azad Maidan says, “We try to ensure that all passengers get the bus, so we call them if they are not there at the time assigned on the ticket.” Heading to Goa by bus? Then watch the clock, we say.
