For schoolteachers who evaluated SSC newspapers this year, the situation is still apna sapna money money when it comes to the payment of their dues. It has been two months since the results were declared, but neither have they received their dues from the state board, nor have they gotten an increase in their conveyance since the past eight years.

A total of 16,500 teachers worked as evaluators for the Mumbai division of the Maharashtra State Board of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education (MSBSHSE) The total amount of assessment payment for moderators and examiners is as high as around Rs 1 crore.

"The state board takes information from us such as names, personal details, bank details etc. much before examinations begin. Yet, they are unable to clear payments even after two months since the declaration of the results. Earlier when the process was offline, on the day of results, cheques would be issued to teachers for their assessment work. Since the time the process has gone online, it has been delayed. This year, the delay is much longer, which is discouraging for teachers," said Rajesh Pandya from the Teachers Democratic Front, which has complained to the Mumbai division.

Duttatray Jagtap, chairman, Mumbai division, MSBSHSE told mid-day, "This work is under process. By August 15, all payments will be done. It is a massive activity considering the number of teachers and answer sheets. Hence, we begin this work after the results are declared. We start with the payment of moderators and examiners for HSC examination. Subsequently, we move to the moderators and examiners for SSC. Now, only the payment for SSC examiners is pending."
