Mumbai: Two bodies found in apparent murder-suicide at Mahim residence

Mumbai: Two bodies found in apparent murder-suicide at Mahim residence

A mother and her eight month old son, on Wednesday were found dead in a house near city light cinema, Mahim. The victims have been identified as Swara Kaskar (42) and her eight month old son Harsh.


According to police, the mother had slit herself and her son with a sharp weapon in an apparent murder-suicide case. In the evening, when Savlaram Kaskar, the husband retuned home, he saw the door was locked.


He then informed the neighour and they tried to break the door open to no avail. They, then informed the police, who reached the spot only to find two bodies lying in a pool blood. A hand-written note was also found near by the bodies.


Police prima facie suspected it to be a case of suicide. According to a police source, the note says that the woman was suffering from depression and her husband was also unemployed since the past one year.

Both the bodies have been shifted to Bhabha hospital. DCP Dhanajay Kulkarni said, "The two bodies were found and prima facie it is suicide. We are investigating."

A case of suicide and murder will be registered, the police added later.
