Arundhati Roy
The Ministry of Utmost Happiness (Penguin)
Release: June
2017 will see Booker-prize winning author Roy return to fiction after almost 20 years, with the most anticipated novel, The Ministry of Utmost Happiness. It relays a shattered story magnificently; readers can expect peerless prose and formal inventiveness in these pages.

The Book of Chocolate Saints (Aleph) Release: September
Thayil’s second novel in five years, will take us through the story of Newton Francis Xavier, blocked poet, serial seducer of young women, reformed alcoholic (but only just), philosopher, recluse, all-round wild man and India’s greatest living painter.

Johar’s memoir — the title of which has been appropriated from Vikram Seth’s novel — was expected to hit stands in 2016. Despite keeping expectant fans salivating, the most awaited title from B-town is finally going to release early this year.
