Indian wicket-keeper batsman Parthiv Patel makes his return to the national Test squad for the upcoming third Test against England at Mohali starting on Saturday.


The cricketer will replace Wriddhiman Saha who has been ruled out for the third Test due to an injury on his left thigh. Parthiv Patel will make a comeback to the Test squad after a huge gap of eight years.


Parthiv Patel made his debut in 2002 and played his last Test match against Sri Lanka in August 2008.

Parthiv Patel has played 20 Tests with 683 runs scored at an average of 29.69.

Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar will also be back in the squad and will play the remaining Tests against England. India's opening batsman Gautam Gambhir has been dropped from the side.
