A meeting in this regard was held on Wednesday and was attended by Regional Transport Officer Arun Yeola, Additional Municipal Commissioner Rajendra Jagtap, Deputy Municipal Commissioner R T Shinde, Traffic Planner Srinivas Bonala, Deputy Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Vishwas Pandhare, Maharashtra State Goods and Passenger Transport Organisation President Baba Shinde and other officials of the ST.

The terminals would be equipped with several passenger-friendly facilities such as canteen, shelter, toilet, parking, etc., which would be constructed in a phased manner. Initially, only pay and park facility would be available for drivers of private vehicles.

“Private vehicles will be charged an entry fee of Rs 50 and Rs 100 for next 12 hours per bus. A detailed report will be prepared after which it will be tabled before the General Body (GB). Once the GB sanctions it, the terminals will be made available for buses,” a PMC official said.

DCP (Traffic) Vishwas Pandhare said, “Terminals at these places will help ease congestions on the arterial roads of the city. Movement of private and ST buses will be streamlined if these terminals become functional. Commuters can opt for private vehicles, autorickshaws, taxis or cabs to commute within the city from these terminals.” u00a0
