Rajkummar Rao, known for his acclaimed cinematic performances, goes to lengths to bring authenticity to his part. After having survived on coffee and two carrots every day for 20 days to essay the role of a starving man in Trapped (2016), and shaving his head for an upcoming web series on Subhash Chandra Bose, Rao recently consumed a large quantity of alcohol for a scene in the romantic comedy Behen Hogi Teri. The scene portrayed his character in an inebriated state.

Talking to mid-day, Rao, otherwise a teetotaller, revealed that the crew was delighted to learn of his willingness to consume vodka. "They offered all kinds of drinks to me because they knew I don’t consume alcohol. Although I was aware of my surroundings while intoxicated, I had to make it a point to consciously remember my lines and listen to the other actors."
A unit hand says, "Rajkummar gulped an entire bottle of vodka for the part. While it was a three-minute long scene, the makers and Rao were enjoying it so much, they kept the cameras rolling for almost 30 minutes." Rao downed vodka shots while dubbing too, to recreate the slur of an intoxicated man.
