We all remember the iconic Sachin Tendulkar ad for 'Boost' wherein Sachin goes on to encourage young kids to try out the energy drink. Moreover, MRF's brand had brilliant brand recall since Sachin Tendulkar used it on his bat for most of his cricketing career.
However, it is rare to find Indian cricketers before the 1990s era featuring in such advertisements. Nonetheless it did take place!
An old advertisement of soft drink brand Thums Up that has India's new head coach Ravi Shastri, Sunil Gavaskar and Sandeep Patil is one of the coolest things to see.
The ad shows a young Gavaskar, Shastri and Patil playfully juggling with a Thums Up bottle just like they would a cricket ball while seated on chairs. After a lot of pass around, Sunil Gavaskar pops open the bottle to take a sip with Ravi Shastri and Sandeep Patil smiling away.
