A few of months back, a Pakistani chaiwala became an overnight internet sensation and bagged modelling contracts after photographer Jiah Ali shared his pictures on a social media platform.

Now comes a 19-year-old roadside 'paratha wala' who hopes to one day be part of the Pakistan national cricket team.

An upcoming cricketer, Hanan Khan supports his career by making parathas at a roadside diner in Karachi.

Hanan has taken the first step towards fulfilling his dream after being included in the Pakistan's National Cricket Academy -- NCA XI, which will play two T20 matches against Malaysian cricket team on January 14 and 15 at the Gadhafi Stadium in Lahore.

Hanan Khan represents Quetta in Pakistan's domestic grade 2 tournament, besides being part of Pakistan Super League side Quetta Gladiators.

Hanan, who is considered to have potential as a pacer, is not the first raw talent to be pushed through the ranks with little or no domestic experience, former Pakistani speedster Shoaib Akhtar is a classic example as is Mohammad Irfan.

Talking about his selection, The Express Tribune quoted him as saying, "When I was first informed by NCA about my selection, I couldn’t believe it. I suspected it was a prank call so I called them back to make sure that someone’s not messing with me. I am incredibly happy to get this chance."

The Pakistan publication also quoted him thanking the PCB for unearthing talent from the Balochistan region. He said, "I am really thankful to all the people who have supported me, especially the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) that has played an important part in promoting emerging players from my native Balochistan."

"It's another step and this is how I will reach the national team and represent Pakistan one day," the newspaper quoted him as saying.
