Punekaris are in for a musical treat as Alternative Rock band Blakc from Mumbai are set to perform in the city this week
Mumbai-based Alternative Rock band Blakc is ready to enthrall Punekaris with their Rock music and high octane performance. The band comprises Shawn Pereira (vocals), Anish Menon (guitars), Roop Thomas (bass), Shishir Thakur (drums) and Reinhardt Dias (guitars).
Vocalist Pereira says, “Pune is always a city where I like to perform as the crowd enjoys the music. We get a positive vibe when we sing here. We will be singing some new compositions as well as tracks from our first and second album.”

Rock music group Blakc
Blakc has toured extensively across the country and recently released their second studio album, titled Mothered Land. Over the last five years, Blakc has played over 100 shows across 16 cities in India.
Pereira adds that the band started off as a college group and performed at college festivals initially. Their first outstation performance was in the city.
The band started in early 2006 when Pereira met Menon and grouped up with some other members (who have since left the band). They jammed for a week, entered into a competition under the temporary name of Blakc and came third in it. That’s how the name stuck.
