Sachin: A Billion Dreams has created waves with its opening numbers. The movie recorded a splendid opening in its genre, marking the biggest opening in the history of Indian cinema.

The movie has not only received immense critical acclaim, but also audience appreciation.

Sachin: A Billion Dreams has made Tendulkar the only Indian sportsperson to have a docu-drama based on his life. Sachin's movie has been included in the league of movies based on Mohammad Ali, Ayrton Senna, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Michael Jordan. Some of the best films are made in this format.

The genre works because the focus is on a real-life individual with a real representation of facts, believe the makers. With that, comes an intimate and immediate connection with the person it is based on.

The film is engaging since it's a factual presentation of Sachin's life with real-life sporting legends on the big canvas.

Director James Erskine's Sachin: A Billion Dreams resonates with the viewers on a deeper level as the makers have used real-life footage of moments when the nation's trust rested on Sachin to hit a sixer or score a boundary during crucial moments or even otherwise.

Reliving the emotions, these moments promise to give every fan goosebumps, making the audience jump to their feet to cheer for the Master Blaster, with 'Sachin-Sachin' chants all over again.

Producer Ravi Bhagchandka, who is overwhelmed with the response that the movie is receiving, faced skepticism initially, but is now content that he did not take the traditional route of getting an actor to play the role of Sachin, and explored this unique genre.

Interestingly, the movie has not only struck a chord with Tendulkar fans and cine-goers, but also non-cricket fans, who gave a standing ovation at the end of the movie as they left the theatre teary-eyed.

Sachin's movie has clearly hit a six and if trade sources are to be believed, Sachin fever is expected to only grow further.
