Superstar Shah Rukh Khan may find himself in fresh trouble with regards to the illegal ramp he had constructed adjacent to his bungalow ‘Mannat’ in Bandra, Mumbai. An NGO has alleged that construction of the ramp was in violation of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ)-2 norms. Hence, the NGO wants Khan’s bungalow to be seized, referring to violation of conditions under which development was allowed by the Maharashtra government, in 2006.

According to the ‘Watchdog Foundation’ after their complaint to investigate CRZ-2 violation, the suburban collector had issued an order dated August 8 to the Tehsildar, Andheri and Assistant Municipal Commissioner, H-west (Bandra, west) ward to conduct an investigation and submit a report within a month.

Godfrey Pimenta, trustee of Watchdog Foundation said, “The construction of ramp was a breach of lease condition set by the state government under which the plot was given to Khan, back in 2006. Considering the violations of CRZ notification 1991 and 2011, civic body had served a demolition notice to Khan.”

He added, “The H west ward office was supposed to submit its investigation in first week of September. It’s more than month, but the report has not been submitted. When we filed an RTI to find out about the civic body’s investigation report, the collector’s office replied saying they are yet to receive the report from the ward office.”

The NGO has demanded termination of the lease of the plot on which Khan’s bungalow is standing as well of other such plots that have violated lease norms.

The ramp constructed by Khan was demolished by the BMC last year in February after a complaint by local BJP MP Poonam Mahajan. Post demolition, BMC slapped a bill of Rs.1.93 lakh to the superstar to recover the cost, which the actor paid later on.

Assistant Municipal Commissioner, (H-west), Sharad Ughade was not available for comment.
