Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan starts shooting for director Aanand L Rai's film from Tuesday in Mumbai. The makers of the film have recreated some popular locations of Meerut including the Ghanta Ghar in Film City.

One of the main reasons Rai at present is not planning a Meerut outdoor is because SRK is playing a dwarf which would make shooting on real locations difficult for the makers of the film.
The film has Katrina Kaif playing one of the female leads. Rai is yet to find the second lead girl for his film. Some of the others include Ronit Roy, Deepak Dobriyal and Zeeshan Ayub.
Initially, Rai did have a plan to start shooting of the film in Meerut but later changed his mind. A source close to the unit said, "Rai may shoot some portions of the film in Meerut but the entire first schedule will be in Film City."
Katrina Kaif is at present shooting for 'Tiger Zinda Hai' in Abu Dhabi and likely to join the unit a little later.
