If you have been following Sorabh Pant seethe jovially on YouTube against all that's wrong with the world, then here is a chance to catch him live. Rant of the Pant, the online playlist which has the stand-up comedian telling you about autorickshaw strikes, Air India and Raj Thackeray, comes to Bal Gandharv Rang Mandir, Bandra, on June 10.

Calling it his "most political set by a long shot", Pant says that this is his most experienced and mature avatar. "I am still as juvenile and stupid as I used to be, but I am trying to find some balance of opinion," says Pant, adding that he is tired of the loud, opinionated voices that we have become so used to hearing on television news channels.

He brings up the trifecta of Modi-Kejriwal-RaGa, on which trolls and memes have a field day, and says, "The most number of jokes are made on these three figures and I want to have an unbiased look at them. Even on Twitter, I follow those who find a middle ground."

The set, which has earlier been staged at Hong Kong and Hyderabad, will look at some pressing issues that the nation wants to know about - drug abuse, gay rights and feminism. Moreover, in true Pant style, he will also offer his take on things of global importance, such as the Justin Bieber phenomenon. "I will also be sharing the importance of liking your job.

I quit writing for television to purse stand-up, and, while I am aware that it was privilege, it is necessary to be passionate about what you do," he says.

Will his most political set also rile up his not-so-thick-skinned audiences? "I am exhausted of people being so sure. We can't sustain this feeling of 'Me Vs You' for too long. This way we only go back to violence," he says, adding, "I do sound like a hippie, don't I? With all my idealism?" Whether you tag Pant as a hardened optimist or a humorous opportunist, this is a set to watch out for. Those of us who don't make it to the Rant of the Pant, catch parts of the show later on YouTube. But, as Pant tells us he has a surprise in store for the live act, you may just want to book your tickets right away.
