Google has rolled out a new feature for Android users that allows them to save an entire website and read it later in Chrome even if there is no internet connection. The feature, termed as 'Downloads' feature, allows an Android user to access web pages, music, and videos in offline mode.

Firstly, to enjoy the feature, the user needs to ensure that he/she has the latest version of Google Chrome downloaded from Play Store. To download a webpage in an online environment, a user needs to open Chrome’s menu on the top right hand side of the web browser, and long press the 'save' icon for bookmarking the site. Once the entire site is downloaded, the user can access the entire content in an offline or no-network zone by simply tapping on the ‘Download’ option from the 'menu' button.

This additional feature makes Chrome similar to Instapaper or Pocket, services that allow users to browse through a saved articles even when they are in offline mode. This offline feature could pull in a major population of casual readers, because they do not need a standalone app to save articles or a webpage.

This feature will not only come to use when an Android user suffers from network connectivity issue, but also when they run short of mobile internet plan. This offline feature is available in the updated version of Chrome on Android devices.
