Grammy-winning DJs, The Chainsmokers, will hit Indian turf in less than four weeks for Percept's Road To Ultra India 2017, which will be held in Mumbai and Delhi on September 7 and 8 respectively.

As the hype around The Chainsmokers' appearance builds up, mid-day has learnt that the singers — Alex Pall and Andrew Taggart — will dress up in Indian outfits during their performance. Giving their wardrobe a desi twist will be fashion designer Neeta Lulla.

A source reveals, "The fashion-conscious DJ duo loves Indian prints and traditional motifs. While they will make an appearance on the red carpet wearing Lulla's designs, they will also sport something indigenous on stage."

The ace designer has designed two outfits for Closer hitmakers. Talking to mid-day, Lulla says, "I have fused traditional prints and modern cuts for their outfits. The design is fresh and modern, but it also has an Indian touch to it with the earthy and tribal Warli art."

Lulla has also used the motif of Lord Ganesha as part of her designs, as he is a symbol of prosperity and success. "It's more like a goodwill gesture. The holographic background gives a psychedelic vibe that resonates with dance and music. A lot of electro pop colours have been used. Since The Chainsmokers perform at arenas, it's important for the colours to stand out," says the veteran designer.
