Late last night, in a sudden, but expected move, Sony decided to pull the plug on Kapil Sharma's show.

The channel's official spokesperson says, "Kapil has been under the weather due to which we have mutually agreed to take a short break. Once he has recovered completely, we will start shooting again. We value our relationship with Kapil and wish him a speedy recovery."
For the past several months, the show had been plagued by controversies. Kapil Sharma had also been doing a no-show on the set besides keeping celebrity guests waiting for him. Industry insiders state that his return is doubtful and it amounts to getting the boot.
