We dropped by Crave late on a Tuesday night; the stretch outside was quite desolate and we expected few customers to drop by.

However, we were pleasantly surprised to find several people flock to the eatery during our visit. We took it as a good sign.

The eatery was welcoming and cheerful with yellow-hued tables, chairs and walls, floors with classic black and white tile
patterns and soft ambient lights. The attendants were unfailingly polite as well.

We browsed through the menu and started off by ordering pizzas. We zeroed in on the Greece Lightning pizza (Rs 345) and The Great Nawab (Rs 385). The Greece Lightning pizza, which comprised roasted bell peppers, eggplant, zucchini, onion, feta and olive oil, was average and is recommended for die-hard eggplant lovers only, as the vegetable overshadowed the other elements.

The Great Nawab, on the other hand, was a winner. Its toppings included chicken tikka, shami kebab, sheekh kebab, capsicum and onion. It was flavourful and we managed to finish it off in no time. A safe bet for meat lovers. The base managed to strike a balance between not being too crispy or chewy.

The Panna Cotta was one of the highlights

Next up, we tried their Belgian Hot Chocolate (Rs 120) which had hints of caffeine and was delicious. The Firestarter Sandwich (Rs 225) had generous amounts of tuna, chipotle chilli mayo and yellow cheddar and was quite satiating.

The Roast Burger (Rs 240), however, was average; it didn't have a patty but included a mix of shredded chicken, gravy, caramelised onions, lettuce and white cheddar. Our grouse was that the bun was slightly burnt. With the fries, we opted for a honey mustard dip which was delectable as well, though the fries were a tad too salty.

Last up, for dessert, we tried the Kiwi Panna Cotta (Rs 70) and the Black Currant Panna Cotta (Rs 70), both of which were refreshing, not cloyingly sweet and made for a great finale to the meal.
