The demise of Bollywood veteran Vinod Khanna after battling cancer at the age of 70 in Mumbai on Thursday sees the end of an era.

The legnadary star, born in Pakistan's Peshawar district, was suffering from bladder cancer. He breathed his last at 11.20 am, weeks after being hospitalised for severe dehydration.

Vinod Khanna was one of the most handsome stars of the 70s. ANd we would like to remember him like that.

Well, there's a throwback image of the dashing star that will make you remember the 70-year-star like he was in his heydays.

The photo shows Amitabh Bachchan and Vinod Khanna in cricket kit heading out to the middle to supposedly open the innings during a charity match in the 70s.

The 70s was the time the duo worked together in several films like Muqaddar Ka Sikander (1978), Amar Akbar Anthony (1977), Hera Pheri (1976) and Parvarrish (1977), which were blockbusters and established them as 'Jodi No. 1' or in cricketing parlance  -- made them the 'Virender Sehwag-Gautam Gambhir' of cinema.

Vinod, a sitting Bharatiya Janata Party MP from Gurdaspur district of Punjab, was admitted to Sir H.N. Reliance Foundation Hospital and Research Centre in Girgaon, Mumbai on March 31.

A photo then surfaced and went viral online that sparked rumours of him suffering from cancer. Several media reports suggested the actor was suffering from bladder cancer.
