Top five must-have Telltale games

This month, 13 years ago Telltale games came into being, rising from the ashes of the once great LucasArts, a gaming company responsible for some of the best adventure titles of the time. Telltale took over where LucasArts left off and continued delivering innovative game play with intriguing storylines. The focus on story and interactive involvement of the player that can actually steer the story are the hallmark features of all Telltale adventure titles. With a roster of over 30 titles, going through their lineup can be a little daunting. So, instead, here is a short list of the best the company has to offer.

Game Of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series
We all know and love HBO's brilliant show Game of Thrones. We are familiar with the characters, the timeline and every other minor detail. So rather than reinvent the wheels Telltale went with a story-based approach. Split over six episodes, the game gives you control over five characters, allowing you to explore the viewpoint of each character and complete the storyline to move forward.

Batman: A Telltale Series
The story here is key and it based on creators Bob Kane and Bill Fingers character rather than being tied to a more recent version of Batman. One unique feature of the series is crowd play, where the game can be watched by an audience and they can help you by telling you what to select during the decision-making bits. While you have the final say, failure in selecting an option results in the computer selecting the most popular action.

Back To The Future: The Game
It's a well-known fact that there will never be another Back to the Future. So how do you move forward with the adventure? Telltale teamed up with Bob Gale who co-wrote the series and had him assist on the storyline. The plot starts with Doc missing for a significant amount of time and eventually, Einstein, Docs' dog appears with the car and a tape with instructions from Doc asking Marty to help him. Marty has to now decode where, rather when, Doc is and has to go save him. For fans, it is a game that can't be missed.

The Walking Dead
tHE Walking Dead Telltale series chose to base itself on the comic books instead of its TV counterpart which let the game explore its own standing. The events happen in Georgia, shortly after a zombie apocalypse. The story unfolds around a university professor and convict Lee Everett who helps a young girl named Clementine. The entire project was overseen by The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman to keep the tone of the game in check.

The Wolf Among Us
Based on the Fables comic books, this game is played out from the perspective of Sheriff Bigby Wolf aka the Big Bad Wolf, who is investigating the murder of a woman in Fabletown. The five-part series is set in 1980s America where creatures of lore live among the humans by disguising their appearance with an enchantment know as glamour. The story is full of twists and turns and the episodic element builds up for curiosity. The story also changes according to the choices you make and even the time-bound action bits can influence the game.
