Apart from a few cosmetic updates, the revamped Toyota Corolla Altis gets new features as well
Toyota Corolla Altis Facelift
Japanese carmaker Toyota launched the facelifted Corolla Altis at a starting price of Rs 15.87 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). It is a much needed update that the D-segment sedan required as it faces stiff competition from the likes of Hyundai Elantra and Skoda Octavia. The refreshed offering from Toyota gets a shorter variant-list, down from five petrol and four diesel trims to four and two respectively.

The revamped Corolla Altis looks a lot more upmarket than the car it replaces. On the outside, it gets sharper styling, thanks to a sporty new bumper, new grille design, LED headlamps and daytime running lights. The car also features restyled 16-inch alloy wheels and tweaked styling for LED taillamps. The story is similar on the inside, as the refreshed sedan gets a redesigned instrument panel with a soft-touch dashboard and "Flaxen" interior colour theme. Apart from the lengthy feature list, the car ticks nearly all the safety boxes with 7 airbags, hill start assist, vehicle stability control and ABS + EBD with brake assist.
The Corolla Altis continues to be offered with the same, tried and tested, petrol and diesel engines that powered its predecessor. While the 1.8-litre petrol engine belts out 140PS of power and 173Nm of torque, the 1.4-litre diesel powerplant generates 88PS of power and 205Nm of torque. The petrol engine is mated to a six-speed manual box or a seven-speed CVT automatic and the diesel mill comes mated to a six-speed manual transmission only.
The updated sedan gets a unique colour option, which the Japanese call Phantom Brown. Apart from this, it is being offered in White Pearl Crystal Shine, Silver Mica Metallic, Champagne Mica Metallic, Grey Metallic, Super White & Celestial Black.
