Preliminary investigations in Raigad rave party bust reveal organisers are using code names and advertising them on social networking sites to get a bigger crowd
The next time you get a message on your favourite social networking site asking you to attend a 'Shanti Yatra' ensure that it is nothing but just that.

According to cops, who busted a rave party at Raigad on Sunday, organisers are now using code words to conduct such raves and using social networking sites to advertise them to garner most attendees.
Preliminary investigations reveal that the organisers of the party used the term 'Shanti Yatra' and invited potential partygoers through social networking sites.
Cops also told MiD DAY that several attendees were from rich social circles including relatives of Bollywood stars.
After receiving a tip-off, the Crime Branch busted a rave party organised at Mount View Club and Resort in Khalapur, a village in Raigad district.u00a0
Nearly 225 people, mostly between the ages of 20-30 years, including 63 girls were detained during the raid. According to police sources, the youngsters belonged to high-profile families and one of them was the son of a cold drink manufacturer while two others were sons of Bollywood biggies.
During the raid, cops seized two kg of cannabis, 57 gm of Charas and small quantities of cocaine and different pills and powders.
In addition to the drugs, the police also found Rs 3.08 lakh in cash. Officials told MiD DAY that most of the detainees were from Mumbai and Pune and that the organiser of the rave was a Ghatkopar resident.
According to Deputy Superintendent (Raigad division) Namrata Patil, the party had been organised under the banner of Beyond Management, who used the code word Shanti Yatra and advertised it on social networking sites.

She also added that the police was on the lookout of Vikas alias Vicky Shah, a co-ordinator from the management company that organised the party.
Patil further elaborated that they had found that initial fees to check the details of the party were Rs 1,000 and entry into the party was an additional Rs 4,000. A fortnight ago, similar parties were also conducted in Bangalore and in Kolkata.
Officer arrested
In addition to the youth who were detained during the raid, the cops also arrested Inspector Anil Jadhav and four others for being involved in the rave. The others arrested are Snehjit Sajalkar, Kishankumar Sujankumar, resort manager Rahul Khanna and Jadhav's aide Sunil Ghule.
An official said, "They have been arrested under the e Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Jadhav was attached with the Anti-Narcotics cell (ANC) of Mumbai police and is suspected of being the facilitator of the drugs."
Currently, the police are awaiting lab results on the drugs used. Meanwhile, Home Minister R R Patil suspended Jadhav and has initiated a departmental inquiry against him.

The arrest and alleged involvement of anti-narcotics officer Anil Jadhav has been termed embarrassing by RR Patil, the home minister. He said that the arrest of the officer was a serious issue and has decided to check antecedents of all officers in the Anti-Narcotics Cell. "We have taken a very serious note of the issue.

I have sought records of all police officers in the Anti-Narcotics Cell and will check their backgrounds," said Patil. He added, "We will try to depute officers with clean records and will also seek a report from the CID and SIT before any appointment."
