Sherlock writer, Mark Gatiss, who also plays Mycroft Holmes, reacts to the drubbing of Season 4 by die-hard fans on social media
The fourth season of Steven Moffat and Mark Gatiss' Sherlock has left critics and fans agitated, venting their anger on social media. Fans have criticised the amended format as one that showcases minimal character growth and that is "complicated", making this season the most dissed since the popular series first went on air.

"Not sure about this latest series of Sherlock. I have no idea what's going on! What happened to solving crimes," wrote one Twitter user, while another shared, "I am so over Steven Moffat. These scripts have been so thin. Disappointed!"
But co-writer and creator Mark, who also features in the series as Sherlock's brother, Mycroft Holmes, tells hitlist in an email interview that he isn't perturbed with the comments. "I am not that bothered about what social media has to say about the plot or whether they approve of a particular twist or not. We can't over analyse, because if we start doing that, we'd never be able to finish the episode. To be honest, I am not making a show to get reactions on the Internet."
He and the team have expressed their willingness to go ahead with another season of the series.
Insisting that he finds it hard to believe that nobody in India has ever attempted to adapt Sherlock Homes for television, Mark believes that a Bollywood-style rendition would be interesting. "I would be very pleased if a Bollywood remake of Sherlock was made. I would look forward to the filmy dance in it. Though it couldn't be our version of Sherlock, but they could certainly make a Sherlock."
