WWE SmackDown Live saw Randy Orton face AJ Styles compete for the no. 1 contender to face Bray Wyatt for the WWE championship at WrestleMania 33, John Cena and Nikki Bella competing for the first time together, and Alexa Bliss' find out her WrestleMania opponent.

WWE SmackDown Live's main event had Randy Orton battle AJ Styles to enter WrestleMania's main event. AJ Styles first talked about how Randy Orton disrespected him and how the latter has been rewarded. During the match both WWE superstars gained an upper hand at intervals, but Randy Orton hit an RKO to become the number one contender to face Bray Wyatt for the WWE Championship.
Alexa Bliss came out for her 'Blisseration' with Mickey James. Soon, Becky Lynch came out and challenged her for the SmackDown women's title at WrestleMania, and she was followed by Natalya. Mickey James also believed she should get a title shot. SmackDown General Manager Daniel Bryan then announced Alexa Bliss against the SmackDown women's roster for the title at WrestleMania 33.
Alexa Bliss and Mickey James faced Natalya and Becky Lynch. During the match Natalya turned on partner Becky and let Alexa Bliss pin her for the win. Mickie James then kicked Alexa Bliss after the match and held the title.
John Cena and real-life girlfriend Nikki Bella competed together for the first-time ever in a mixed tag team match against Carmella and James Ellsworth. The Miz and Maryse interrupted the match. John Cena and Nikki Bella made short work after both performed the Five-Knuckle-Shuffle and then hit their respective signature moves to win by submission. As John and Nikki celebrated, The Miz and Maryse attacked the couple. Miz then stated that John Cena and Nikki Bella's love is not true.
While Dean Ambrose was on the lookout for Baron Corbin backstage, the latter attacked him with a pipe and then a forklift.
