Talking to the media, Madhavi Latha said that they gave permission for Ramadan celebrations but denied permission for Shobha Yatra citing Model Code of Conduct. “Ramadan was also during the time of election code. I also directed the police team to take immediate action on this and in that path two of the accused have been arrested... This is Maharashtra, no gang is left here... We will uproot all the gangs and goons...Here hooliganism will not be allowed to continue... The accused arrested are being interrogated... Strict actions will be taken. I have also directed the Police Commissioner to provide security for Salman Khan and his family... It is our duty to take care of our people... I don't want to comment on what happened in the past government, but we will uproot all the gangs and goons who will try to harm any person of the state..."

On the occasion Of Ram Navami, Surya Abhishek of Lord Ram was performed for five minutes at 12:16 pm on April 17. Ramnavami, the birth festival of Lord Ram Lala, was celebrated at noon and various types of offerings were made to the Lord. 56 types of Bhog Prasad were given by the devotees today which was offered to the Lord today. The trust also extended the duration of Darshan to 19 hours, starting from the Mangala Aarti and continuing until 11:00 pm. The curtain will be closed only for five minutes during the four Bhog offerings.

Jhelum Boat Accident: 6 dead bodies found, 3 people still missing

Rescue and search is operation underway in Ganderbal Nowgam area of ​​Srinagar. 3 people are still missing in the boat capsizing incident that occurred in the Jhelum River yesterday. According to DC Srinagar, Six bodies have been found so far. Officials said that the rescue operation continued till 11 pm last night but was halted due to darkness and heavy water flow in the river Jhelum. On 16th of April, in a tragic accident a boat carrying school children overturned in the Jhelum river in the Ganderbal district of Jammu and Kashmir. The Srinagar Administration had launched a rescue operation in the area. A State Disaster Response Force team was also deployed. At least six persons including four children were found  dead. 4 bodies were recovered, while others were missing.  Continuous rains over last two days led to an increase in the water levels of several water bodies, including Jhelum.

Ram Navami 2024: Thousands of devotees throng Ram Mandir to seek blessings

Across the country, Hindus are celebrating the festival of Ram Navami on April 17. A large number of devotees thronged Ram Temple in Ayodhya to take the blessings of Ram Lalla. Ram Lalla is expected to be gifted with ‘Surya Abhishek’ at noon when the rays of the Sun fall on his forehead. Elaborate arrangements were made in the Ram Temple as it is the first Ram Navami after the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony which happened on January 22. Devotees are also visiting the Hanuman Garhi temple in Ayodhya to offer prayers on the occasion. Ram Navami is one of the most celebrated festivals by the Hindu community that commemorates the birth anniversary of Lord Rama. The day holds special significance among Hindus which falls on the ninth day of Chaitra month, the first month in the Hindu lunar calendar.
