On 26th of March, engineer turned education reformer Sonam Wangchuk, who was on fast over several demands, ended his 21-day ‘Climate Fast’. Hundreds of people joined Wangchuk in Leh as he ended his fast. The climate activist and his supporters have demanded statehood for Ladakh and its inclusion under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India. The educator accused the BJP government of backtracking from its promise of extending safeguards guaranteed under the sixth schedule of the Constitution to Ladakh. On tuesday, 26th of March ending his fast, Sonam Wangchuk reminded the people ballot power and urged them to use it very carefully in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.
27 March,2024 11:54 AM ISTAAP’s women workers in Delhi held a protest at the ITO foot over bridge on March 24 against Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in the Excise Policy case. They raised slogans against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Enforcement Directorate. Delhi Police officials also intervened to control the situation. Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal was arrested by ED on March 21. A protestor said, “Arvind Kejriwal has done so much good work for the women of Delhi. During a press conference, he alleged that the BJP government wants to make the poor and Muslims stateless. "Our case (challenging CAA) is already in the Supreme Court but at that time govt of India said that the rules are yet not framed. But now as the govt has issued the notifications and has framed the rules for CAA, going to the Supreme Court is a must. If the govt starts giving citizenship based on an unconstitutional law, it can be harmful... This govt is saying that if your religion is Islam, we won't provide you the citizenship, for this we have moved to the Supreme Court. The law was passed in 2019 by the ruling party, but they keep it as it is, when they saw that there would be an announcement for elections in a week, they came up with rules in the night by keeping in mind, the elections. The BJP-led govt wants to make the poor and Muslims stateless.

The Union Home Ministry has notified rules for implementation of Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA) on March 11, days ahead of LS Polls 2024. Home Minister Amit Shah, on multiple occasions, said that CAA rules would be notified ahead of the Lok Sabha elections to be held in April-May. The implementation of CAA triggered a wave of celebration among the refugees. Pakistani refugees on March 12 lauded Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for implementing the Citizenship Amendment Act. In a self-made video shared by Bharatiya Janata Party leader Manoj Tiwari, showed refugees expressing their excitement and praising the Indian Prime Minister.

In what world Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu is living? So what authority does he have to say that I am going to prevent this from happening, he cannot prevent it, how can he prevent it? It is going against the oath he has taken, better he resigns and gives a political speech…All the religious persecuted minorities are happy yesterday they celebrated sweets, are then not our people?”
13 March,2024 10:59 AM ISTA day after CAA was implemented in India, AASU on March 12, held a massive protest march against the law. The march was led by Assam Students' Union chief advisor Samujjal Bhattacharya. Holding bamboo torches, placards and posters, the massive crowd raised slogans against the Government. Samujjal Bhattacharya during the protest called CAA to be communal, unconstitutional, anti-India, anti-northeast. Notably, Union Home Ministry on March 11 notified rules for implementation of CAA days ahead of LS Polls 2024. The Act aims to confer Indian citizenship to persecuted non-Muslim migrants including Hindus, Sikhs, Jains, Buddhists, Parsis, and Christians who migrated from Bangladesh, Pakistan, and Afghanistan and arrived in India before December 31, 2014.

On top of that Thiruvananthapuram MP said that Congress will withdraw the provision of CAA if voted to power. “I consider this morally and constitutionally wrong...
