Singer Usha Mangeshkar, the third eldest Mangeshkar sibling, presented the award to Amitabh Bachchan. The award was instituted in memory of melody queen Lata Mangeshkar after her demise in 2022. The award is given for remarkable dedication to the nation, its people, and society. Previous recipients of this esteemed award include Prime Minister Narendra Modi and popular singer Asha Bhosale.

Ahead of Lok Sabha 2024 elections, PM Modi went to West Bengal for a day-long visit on March 1st. Greek PM Kyriakos Mitsotakis along with his wife Mareva Grabowski-Mitsotakis arrived at Rashtrapati Bhavan on February 21. He was received by his Indian Counterpart Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Mitsotakis also received a guard of honour by the Indian Tri-Services. At the invitation of PM Modi, Greek PM Mitsotakis landed in India for a two-day State visit. Greece PM India Visit will also see him attending the 9th edition of Raisina Dialogue 2024 as the chief guest. Bigg Boss 17 winner and stand-up comedian Munawar Faruqui visited Dongri, this afternoon, after exiting from BB house. A massive crowd was present in Dongri to welcome the Bigg Boss 17 winner. The 17 edition of Colors' reality show ended last night after host Salman Khan announced Munawar as its winner. TV actor Abhishek Kumar was the first runner-up of this season. Munawar defeated actor Abhishek Kumar through live voting in the finale, where Bollywood's Ajay Devgn and R Madhavan were the special guests. Earlier, 'Bigg Boss 17' evicted contestant Ayesha Khan has denied slandering co-housemate Munawar Faruqui's image on national television after sharing personal details about him in the show and said that she was not giving anyone a "character certificate”.

Russian President Vladimir Putin on December 06 arrived in Abu Dhabi for his first visit. With jets flying past, camel cavalry and gun salutes, the Russian Prez was accorded a grand welcome upon his arrival. Amid the ongoing tension in the country over ‘Khalistan’, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi paid a visit to Golden Temple in Amritsar on Oct 02. On June 6, 1984, the Indian Army, under ‘Operation Blue Star’ stormed into the Golden Temple on orders of then PM Indira Gandhi. The order was issued to contain Sikh militancy under the leadership of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwale in Punjab. The Operation was heavily criticized and led to her assassination by two of her Sikh bodyguards at her New Delhi residence on October 31, 1984.

In a ‘diplomatic triumph’, India successfully hosted G20 Leaders’ Summit 2023 in Delhi last week. PM Modi also held a series of bilateral talks with world leaders on the sidelines of G20 Summit.
