Watch: Tejas MK-1A successfully completes its maiden flight

In a historic milestone, indigenous LCA Mark 1A fighter aircraft on March 28 completed its first flight. The aircraft airborne for 15 minutes during its first maiden flight, as per Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL). Currently, two squadrons of IAF, 45 Squadron and 18 Squadron, are fully operational with LCA Tejas. HAL has current capacity to build 8 LCA aircraft per year, this is being increased to 16 aircraft's every year by 2025. In coming years the capacity will be further increased to 24 aircraft every year in the next 3 years. Over Rs 9000 crore have been sanctioned for the development of LCA Mk 2, an updated and advanced version of LCA Tejas. Earlier in the 2023, Air Chief Marshal stated that the Indian Air Force aims to replace the MiG-21 fighter jets with LCA Tejas.

Sadhguru discharged from Delhi hospital after undergoing brain surgery

Spiritual leader Sadhguru Jaggi Vasudev was discharged from Indraprastha Apollo Hospitals in New Delhi on March 27. He underwent emergency brain surgery after suffering life-threatening bleeding in the skull on March 17. He experienced severe headaches for a few weeks before undergoing the surgery, according to Isha Foundation. In a video clip, the spiritual Guru was seen coming out of the hospital as his followers greeted him. Sadhguru has suffered multiple bleedings in the brain before being hospitalised. Sadhguru, who is 66 years old and the founder of the Isha Foundation, has launched campaigns like ‘Save Soil’ and ‘Rally for Rivers’ for environmental conservation. Watch video.

"As far as the victory is concerned, I am 101% confident that I will win with a good margin in any situation...I believe that I will win with more than a 5 lakh margin. Sonam Wangchuk, climate activist, ends 21 day hunger strike In Ladakh

On 26th of March, engineer turned education reformer Sonam Wangchuk, who was on fast over several demands, ended his 21-day ‘Climate Fast’. Hundreds of people joined Wangchuk in Leh as he ended his fast. The climate activist and his supporters have demanded statehood for Ladakh and its inclusion under the Sixth Schedule of the Constitution of India. The educator accused the BJP government of backtracking from its promise of extending safeguards guaranteed under the sixth schedule of the Constitution to Ladakh. On tuesday, 26th of March ending his fast, Sonam Wangchuk reminded the people ballot power and urged them to use it very carefully in the ensuing Lok Sabha elections.

Arvind Kejriwal Arrest: Delhi Police detains AAP workers

Following the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal in the excise policy case by ED, AAP workers have called for a 'gherao' outside Prime Minister Narendra Modi's residence, denouncing the arrest. Protesters voiced slogans against the detention. Delhi Police also detained Punjab Minister and AAP leader Harjot Singh Bains along with a few AAP workers who were protesting. Speaking on the AAP protest in Delhi today, party leader Reena Gupta said, "We demand that Arvind Kejriwal should be released immediately. His arrest is illegal. PM Modi is afraid and he wants Arvind Kejriwal to not campaign for the upcoming elections. Today we will protest and nobody can stop us."Punjab Minister and AAP leader Harjot Singh Bains lashed at ED for being biased and not arresting J.P. Nadda as he accused him of money money-trailing case. He further bashed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and said, “I want to ask our Prime Minister why is he so scared of Arvind Kejriwal and along with him he is also scared of us because of which he has deployed so many security personnel throughout Delhi.”

Congress leader Supriya Shrinate's post Kangana sparks controversy

Congress leader Supriya Shrinate’s ‘controversial’ post - which she later said she had not made - on BJP’s Kangana Ranaut triggered a row on March 25. The post used Kangana’s image with an objectionable caption which was later deleted. Soon Kangana Ranaut hit back at the Congress leader, saying that she has played various roles in movies and every woman deserves dignity. Supriya Shrinate claimed that the post, which has since been taken down, was made by someone who had access to her FB & Insta accounts. She also said, anyone who knows her will know that she would never say that for a woman and blamed a parody account for misusing her name. The post was made a day after the BJP fielded Kangana Ranaut from Himachal Pradesh’s Mandi. Meanwhile, BJP leaders slammed Supriya Shrinate over the post and demanded that she should be immediately sacked.

The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) held a press conference on March 25, during the PC AAP leader and Delhi Minister Atishi attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over Arvind Kejriwal’s arrest in connection with the alleged liquor policy scam. She said PM Modi is scared of Arvind Kejriwal as he is the only one who can challenge him so he wants to eliminate him. "BJP's political weapon ED arrested Kejriwal in a fake case. In a case which even after two years of investigation not even single Rupee proceeds of crime was recovered from any of the AAP leaders. Arvind Kejriwal was arrested after the ECI announced the dates of Lok Sabha elections in a case whose investigation has been on for two years ," said Atishi Marelna while addressing a press conference at party headquarters in Delhi.
